I'm starting my day-olds with Purina Start n Grow feed. Do I need to supplement with grit or does the feed contain it?

Starter doesn't contain grit, but neither do the chicks need grit, if their food is simply the complete feed. It is very soft and mushy, when wet, inside their bodies.

I waited till nearly a Week and a half old, and then provided some Contractors' Sharp Sand that I had washed till the water was Clear, treated with Chlorox, then Triple washed, then dried. Took the chicks a few days to all discover the grit. Now, I get to offer Mealworms for FUN! Any Chick that takes the mealworm is Now "IT" and has to play "KeepAway" - Great Fun for all!!!

Thanks Fred, I should be gettin' the call from the Post Office this AM telling me the girls have arrived. After boning up for months in preperation for today, I still feel I'm forgetting something. Probably just Newbie Nervousness.[IMG]
