If you have not seen this, I can guarantee you it is worth watching. I am really sorry I did not pay more attention to this guy when he was alive. He deserves a lot more recognition than I think he ever got. And it kinda reinforces why I hate to even think about offshore drilling......

I would love to watch the series on animal planet but won't put the money out for TV.

Seen his movie and they made him out to be a crazy man. Was a very badly done movie as far as how they made him look. But the film of the wild life in that movie was worth the watch.

Sad really what happened to him and his gal.

I did see it. Sorry to go against the flow here, BUT you cannot bond with a grizzly bear. Sooner or later it was bound to happen. I mean if you go camping in the middle of the wilderness that is infested with HUGE bears, one of them is bound to be hungry. As for offshore drilling, well.................. I won't even go there.

No your with the flow. I agree it was bound to happen still sad. What I am saying is they could of been a little more tasteful presenting him in the movie. It must of been hard on the family and friends to have him look like a nut, even if he was one.

I just think it could of and should of been presented with more respect for the living. He did have some beautiful film of wild life.

Now, I'm not sure that I saw the movie. I just remember seeing his own footage that he filmed out in the wilderness of the bears and the fox. He got entirely too close to them. They may have recognized him, but they were still bears and my thought is we should respect them and their territory. Shouldn't interfere with them. They should be scared of us and want to go the other way. JMHO

I think the great thing about his footage is that it gives us all a special peek at the lives of grizzly bears. No matter what you think of the man, you just cant stop watching!

Oh you got the right movie and I am sure you seen it. And I agree the guy had no business out there touching any wild life. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he got some great nature on film.

The bee that landed on the flower and just died was amazing to me. Never knew they did that.

The screaming, streaming vulgarities in a picturesque setting. The part where he and almost his girlfriend (or did she die too?) got eatin and in turn caused the life a bear to end all in a picturesque setting. He tried to form artifical relationships with animals to substitute for those human relationships he could not foster. It was a freak show of someone who had a bunch of mental health issues and channeled them into a misguided pursuit of an unnatural reality. All of the above take away from the intimate footage he obtained. It came at a cost for him, his girlfriend and the bears. I watched it once, but your not missing anything if you don't seeit and I don't find myself compelled to watch it again. Keystonepaul
