growing mealworms

My husband has agreed to allow me to grow mealworms in his shop but I will need to get rid of them if the smell is too bad. Do they smell?

I've never kept mealworms, so I don't know how they smell.

I once kept meal worms (not for chicken treats though) and I didn't seem to smell anything bad.
