I have 4 Buff Orpingtons (3 hens, 1 roo) that are full grown and laying - no broodieness, get the egg out and off the nest. Almost 8 weeks ago, I could NOT resist 6 new silkie chicks. They are currently still living in the kiddie pool in my back foyer but I'm getting pretty ready for them to get on outside. They view the Orpingtons like Godzilla.....will they be safe in the same coop/yard?

    Thanks!

Here is a picture of our enclosed chicken area and the orpingtons (they do get to come out in the yard on a regular basis!) I'm pretty sure that the silkies would be able to come through the chain link still so they won't be loose in there any time soon - just wondering when it will be okay for all of them to be left un-refereed.
