I am brand new to chickens and love them already. My favorite Light Brahma is almost 4 weeks old and has a fleshy ball under her small lower beak that doesn't look like it should be there. It might be making it hard for her to swallow. Her upper beak was super long like a parrot beak and we trimmed a little off it (terrifying) and now the bump is really noticeable. I started weighing her and she is gaining weight but slowly. My other 5 chicks are all different kinds and are a week older so I have no reference points and can't find images or info on line so far. Am I worried for nothing? Should I take her to the vet? She runs around and goes after food and hops up on me when I call her but I am afraid it will impair her breathing. Ideas?
