We rescued this ridiculous-looking dog from the back of a truck 2 weeks ago. We weren't even sure if he was going to make it. Once we got him home and fed he fattened right up. The guy had 12 of them in a medium size dog crate. They were some of the ugliest puppies I had ever seen! He was the 3rd cutest, and we got him because he was the cutest boy.
With my alpha female Boston, there is no way for us to have another female dog.
He's got to have some terrier in him, with the wiry scraggly fur. I asked the guy what kind of dogs were mixed in, and he said, "Dogs."
The poor thing had never been handled, and didn't understand us petting him. He's come out of his shell, though, and I think he'll make a great guard dog. He has a healthy respect for the chickens...they straightened him out real quick!
We think he is about 10 weeks old. He hasn't started losing his baby teeth, yet, and still has puppy breath!
He is about the same height as my Boston Terrier, and weighs more than she does, and she is 14 pounds. His gums and lips are black, his tongue is gray. With the upright bat ears, I am thinking maybe shepherd, or something? But his undercoat is short and smooth with sparse wiry overcoat. Maybe some schnauzer mixed in?? I am guessing he'll be about 40-50 pounds full-grown. He's not a jet black, and his undercoat is kind of brownish-gray. His overcoat is kind of charcoal gray.
I'd love to hear y'all's guesses!
Here is his favorite nap spot to sneak in when he thinks we aren't looking!
Here's a close up of his ridiculous ears!
Here's one where you can get an idea of body shape:
