Ohhhhhh how I missed this forum. As soon as I logged back on I felt a warm feeling in my stomach and the excitement I felt when I first joined! I'm too embarrassed to look back at any of my old posts, I was young and in high school and cared more about owning geese than actually being able to properly care for the ones I had.

I promised myself no more poultry until I moved and had my own place, and I recently moved on to my very own five-acre farm! I'm buzzing with excitement, I have a four stall horse barn and three board fence to get ready for the spring arrivals. I cannot wait to do things right.

Please please tell me everyone is still here! Miss Lydia where are you!!!!

So a very close family friend owns a 30 acre farm over here! He rented the property to me and basically said do whatever I want. We put up a huge chainlink fence for my dogs and in the back of the property there are two barns, one pretty nice one with four stalls! There’s already a fence, we’ll have to staple some hardware cloth around it but everything is already here!!

Yesterday my landlord came out with his tractor and scraped up all the horse poop, we’re going to get some grass seed down this week and start working on making it look a little nicer!

I’m beyond excited, I was looking at all the hatcheries last night deciding what breeds I want to go with!!

What a nice place perfect for geese. Will you be adding other poultry too?

I sure hope so! I would love to look into some ducks or maybe even swans if we build an in-ground pond!!

Who’s we did you go and get married? Swans wow they are gorgeous. Not sure how’s they mix with geese and ducks though. Especially during mating season. Research is a must.

Lol!By we I mean my friends and family! This was definitely not something I did alone and couldn’t have done it without everyone supporting me and my ventures! My boyfriend does help me out a lot though!

And you’re right, it seems that swans are pretty hard to keep. They’re not as hardy as geese from what I’ve read.

Hey, welcome back. I live over in Knoxville, and will be back in Jackson TN full time after Christmas. So not to far from cashville.

I too returned this past month. The forums have changed a bit, harder to find old threads that had 1000s of pages and lots of constant flow. Now it seems like the site is more new posts oriented.
