I put my guineas into a side yard when I let the chickens out twice a week cause the guineas are mean, a banty hen flew into the nearby chihuahua puppy pen and as was being chased, this excited the guineas and as I went out to rescue the hen I saw it happen, the one guinea in his attempt to escape and get to the action had is face in the chain link fence then jumped up, he instantly freaked out and began running around, he had caught his crest on the wire and broke it.

The back of the crest is skinned and bleeding and the whole crest is wobbly. I don't know what to do, restraining him was not helping as he was struggling to get free (they love to follow me but hate being touched) nor was a dark quiet box as he kept panicking, he is now loose in the yard shaking his head and scratching at it.

    How serious is this injury???
The bleeding is not bad at all but the fact the crest is so wobbly has me really worried.

I don't think you can do too much except keep him quiet and let him heal, if that means leaving him lose than that's what I would do, poultry can heal from some pretty bad wounds, I would spray some Bluekote on him if I could, but don't get it in his eyes. He should heal, but if it starts looking funky you might have to do some antibiotics.
