Hi everyone! Welcome to the hatchalong for Simone's Tick Exterminators! Just set 24 eggs that I got off of eBay. They rested for 36 hours, (tilted the egg cartons 4 times) disinfected with a 50/50 mix Listerine/water. Candled & all air cells appear to be attached. Temp is at 99.5°f humidity is @50%-55%. Incubator is the Incuview w/humidikit setup. I'll update with pictures & details throughout. :)Happy Hatching!

Update on my eggs. All 24 shipped guinea eggs. Air cells are attached only 11 are fertile. 1 questionable (much smaller dark blob & veins). I'm waiting till Sunday which will be day 16 to throw any just to make sure. Hope everyone else is having success!

Well we ran into a little snag on day 17 :( something in the humidikit stuck so they were at 99.9% humidity (possibly all day while I was at work) The people at incubator warehouse were able to help me out and we got it fixed up, I dried out in the incy and dabbed off the eggs with a clean towel (there was about an 1" of water in there) let them go without added humidity for 10 hours yesterday (to dry out) and last night put it back up to 50%. fingers crossed that they aren't all dead now :( I will keep you posted, Monday is my next candle day. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

Edit on last post.... Snag on day 6 (17 days left) humidity problem has been resolved and we are on day 19 now. I candled and I have 9 for sure viable eggs 3 possible. I did toss the rest as they were complete glows and one was starting to ooze. So fingers crossed that something hatches next week :) lockdown on day 25.

Day 25 and the hatching has started! So far one lavander is out :) patiently waiting for the rest!

Yes! Sorry it's been a busy week. I now have 7 healthy keets. 2 buff and 5 lavander.
I'm happy with the hatch. I started with 24 eggs, 11 ended up being fertile. After the humidity issues that I had I thought for sure they were all goners. 2 were only 1/2 developed, the other 9 hatched. 2 of the 9 didn't make it 24 hours. (Not sure what happened) I did have to assist on the last one he was pipped on the wrong end of the egg and after 48 hours only a small pip hole. So I gently used tweezers and cracked the shell around, used a wet qtip to loosen the membrane that was stuck to him & he popped right out. He did have curled toes but they straightened right out with band-aid shoes. They moved out to the brooder in the coop yesterday. Pictures attached :) planning on setting another bunch this coming weekend.
