Helmets. The domestic guinea is the Helmeted Guinea fowl, one of six (or is it three?) speicies of guinea.

    Well, hmm...

    Vulturine

    Helmeted

    Crested (goofy looking!)

    Black breasted

    White breasted

all Guineas are from order Galliformes (with chickens and gamebirds) and family Phasianidae. They are wild in Africa, and can be quite a pest to the African Farmers, due to their voracious appitite for bugs, ticks and seeds.

You should definately read Gardening with Guineas if you haven't already! It is very helpful if you raise guineas. I don't yet but would like to get some.

    Hope this helps! [IMG]
