Okay, so these aren't REALLY guinea pigs, but they are experimental eggs. I've been trying to perfect a "lemon-blue" cochin. These are first year birds and my first attempt at creating a color on my own. Fertility has been good here--I have veins in 8 out of the 9 eggs I set a week ago, so they are all developing--however, I don't know what we'll get.

So anyone want to try and hatch these out? I won't know what I've got until these actually hatch...they could be purple, for all I know! [IMG] I'm also working with a breeder in Oregon who has the lemon-blues already--so I bought some of her eggs to hatch out so I can introduce those into my flock, next year...that breeder is getting lemon splashes (which are GORGEOUS), lemon-blues, and diluted-looking birds...

Anyway, I'll offer 6+ to be shipped either Friday or Monday, depending on how my girls lay....

    $25, shipped

I thought I'd add that I'd be interested in going some trading, if anyone has any of the following:

    self-blue cochins
    buff cochins
    blue d'anvers
    bantam faverolles
    bantam sultans

Sounds very pretty! A little too much $ for my taste for a guinea pig, but I'm sure they'll be worth it! hehe (I'm just cheap! [IMG])

Quote:SAME here - most folks testing out eggs for color or fertility etc... give the eggs up for pretty much postage only.

$6.25 per egg, or $25 for 4 is a little expensive for something not proven. IMHO
