Guineas just hatched! One has bugged out eyes, Why?

One of our guineas that just hatched has really swollen up eyes. Do you think they are infected or something? He is just laying around, do you think he will be ok?

We put electrolites and stuff in the water right away. Should we try some sort of medicated cream? or is it just something wrong with him and he won't make it?

A picture would be helpful. When I read your caption title I thought one thing but then reading your post it made me think something completely different. Bugged out eyes, protruding eyes, is one thing. Swollen eyes is a completely different physiological presentation.

If this keet is over 24 hours old and not on its feet then chances are very high there is a serious problem and it will not survive.

He is on his feet. he has been walking around. I think they look bugged out, but my husband says swollen. I don't have my camera here so i can't take pics now. Any ideas what we should do?

I've seen the bugged out eyes in newly hatched chicks. Very strange looking but after a few days they all become normal looking.
