Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between male and female?
Yep. Mainly the sounds they make are different. Males make this machine-gun staccato alarm call and females can also make that, but females make a two-syllable call that sounds like, "Come back! Come back!" and males don't do that. Also, the males have longer wattles usually and more upright helmets.
Thanks thats better than people telling me to see which one sits on the nest lol
or the female sound is like she is saying buck-wheat buck-wheat
A female guinea call
Quote:Males are not beggers! That's why the hens sounds like they are saying "come back" "come back" and not the males.......(LOL) JUST JOKIN' 'ROUND.........
