* As of the 3 PM advisory. Winds at 145 mph.
I know... So not cool. It's going to be scary to see what it does once it hits the warm Gulf waters. God bless anyone who's in its path. Please be safe all you BYC'ers.
I just read where it is strengthening up to a category 5.
Yep it's about to be a 5...
no fun in store for us for sure. We'll likely head out of here soon and I have no one to take in my birds, and as it is finding a place to go w/5 dogs is gonna be hellacious
Stay safe...to bad it couldn't just roll around the water until it pettered out and no one gets hit...LOL Everyone in my prayers
* It's developing REALLY fast. Gusting is reaching 187 mph.. Tight hard-walled eye. Still bearing on N.O.-- Hope they are moving out. . . .

I was worried when it was a Cat 1 that it would be huge simply from it's low pressure readings. It rated then at 981 mb. Usually, a dead giveaway it's going to strengthen. I'll have to check and see what it is now.
Good luck to you southern folk.
found it, at 5 pm 942 mb.
edited to add pressure
Hugs and prayers to all of you in Gustav's path...
