I have 21 hens of differing breeds & 5 roosters. Unfortunately when I got the chicks this spring there were more roos than I needed. Not a big deal - 3 are silkies & one is our top roo Russell & we have a young aracauna roo.

The other day one of the silkie roos somehow got tangled under my feet while I was walking by - I didn't understand how he got under there as I didn't see him & they usually get out of the way anyway. Today - the same roo attacked me! He waited until I turned by back & then he jumped at me hitting me in the back of the legs.

Sorry - little guy - but I've got too many roosters to keep a mean one.

By the way - I have 2 more buff silkie roosters - free to a good home if you want them.

I agree. There are too many calm roosters to keep a mean one, or a stupid one, really, since only stupid roosters attack the food-and-water dispenser.
