So the conversation went something like this.

    I called DD13 yesterday evening.

"Have you gone out and checked on the chickens?"

    "No"

"OK, go out there and check on them and call me back. I'm going to be late tonight. You're looking for an egg .. hopefully in a nest box, but look in the whole coop and see if there is one anywhere."

    "Ok"

    2 minutes later

I answer "Wow, that was fast"

    "I ran"

    "So are the chickens ok?"

"Yeah .. um .. you have .. um two"

    "Two? Two what?"

    "Two eggs"

"Two eggs!!?? We have TWO EGGS!?!?!"

    "Yes"

"What color?" (that's important, you know)

"Um, there is a blue one and, um, a green one."

"A GREEN one?!?!? A blue one and a GREEN one??!"

"Yes, mom, a blue one and a green one." (I'm sensing a little irritation at this point)

"Did you bring them in the house?"

    "Um, no."

"No? You left them out there? Honey, you have to go back out there and bring them in the house."

"o KAY, mom. .... Is mommy a little excited to have eggs??" (I'm sensing a little sarcasm now)

"Yes, mommy is excited .. now go get the eggs and bring them in .. you little egg-gatherer .. I'll see you later .. love you."

Then I got some really strange looks as I did a little chicken dance in Garden Ridge Pottery .. *sigh* .. some people just don't get it .. hehehe

    ------------------------------

The little blue egg is so cute .. but the OLIVE egg is beeeee-utiful!!! I did take pics last nite, but grabbed the wrong camera cable, so no uploads this morning .. sorry!

I had to laugh about how you have to spell it out for kids (especially teens)...go check for eggs = "Go Collect Eggs." Congrats on your new layers!!

upintheholler sent me 17 egg .. 4 of them were olive-eggers (wellie eggs, araucana roo i think)

15 hatched, then we had a dog massacre, then i culled the roos .. and was left with 4 pullets ...

I was soooooooooooooo excited that one of those was an olive-egger! yay!

And we have two more yet to start .. so we shall see.

DH was very happy with his "chickens that lay easter eggs" ..
