Hello,
So we ordered some beautiful Hamburg chickens from Mcmurray as a straight run wanting some males to breed with later on. I believe we have 2 out of the 7. They are about 2 months old. The 'males' have larger combs than the rest and their coloring is quite off. The dilemma here is that when I have searched: Golden Penciled Hamburg Rooster, it come up with pictures that look amazing and a lot different from females. But mine has the same penciling as the females and not a buff color. Will it just take time for them to grow in male feathers? or will they be this way forever? I am hoping to bring them to shows but if they look like this I don't know. I will try to get some pictures up later

As @Frazzemrat1 said we will be more helpful with pics, but to your question, yes the boys will take time to start getting in their gorgeous hackles and saddles and will not look like what you're expecting for a couple months still. Here are some good hamburg pics though.
