Just finished canning a double batch of apple jalapeno jam. It's beautiful and I can't wait to give it away this Christmas! However, I didn't have any gloves to wear when chopping the jalapenos (dumb I know!). My hands are still on fire over an hour later! Any suggestions?

Whatever you do, don't mess with your eyes (like remove/insert contact lenses) after handling the peppers.

For any type of burn or tingling, my MIL uses egg whites...blend them until they look like foam...it works so good!

Quote:Me, either. I've wondered, too, why some do and some don't have that reaction.

I hope the milk or egg whites work for you!

I'd like to beg for a picture of the jam, too. Pretty please?

wingingit-I'd be happy to email you a pic. I haven't had any luck posting them here. But I'll tell you the jam turned out really pretty!
