Hardware Cloth and Chicken Wire

I bought a chicken coop from someone on craigslist and when it arrived it was enclosed with chicken wire. I went ahead and just put hardware cloth over the whole thing so now it has a double barrier with both chicken wire and hardware cloth. It's hard to see in/out of the coop with all the wire. Should I remove the chicken wire for the chickens sake or just keep it as extra barrier? They have supervised free range daily but while they are in the coop I thought they may be happier if its easier to see through?

The chicken wire may not pull as tight and flat like the hardware cloth causing potential places to get hung between the layers of wire. I know this from experience. I thought one of my little ones was gonna kill herself before I could get her free. I’m glad I was there but I think I was the cause of her freaking out to end up getting hung. That’s some Matrix paradox kinda crazy stuff ain’t it?

As long as the chicken wire is installed well and in good condition I'd just leave it in. A little extra protection, and less work than having to go back through and remove it.
