So my WH laid her first egg last night ( her 5 month birthday) I think she would have laid sooner, but only got straw in her pen yesterday. It was the perfect size and lovely and smooth. Such an excited ducky mama :D

Thank you all. Laid a second egg yesterday (Wednesday) :) also have 5 still doing well in the incubator at day 21. Not bad from shipped eggs. Hopefully Harlee won't be a lone duck for much longer! :D

another egg today, and went to turn my incubated eggs, only to find one has started hatching!! 2 breaks in the shell but hasn't got through the membrane yet. Can it breath ok?

There is probably a small slit in the membrane, how can you tell it hasn’t gotten through the membrane yet? @WVduckchick @Texas Kiki
