I just candled my 12 Ameraucana eggs, shipped to NC from MI. All are developing!
I've had 100% fertility rates but something always goes wrong with one or two along the way to hatch day.
Congrats on your pending hatch!!
edited b/c i checked my records, and i was wrong! would love to hear more great success stories though!
i have had two people that i shipped eggs to this year and they both had 100 percent hatches. shipped from tenn to fla and il. one was a ebay sale. i couldnt believe it when they emailed me. i am lucky if i get a 80 percent hatch from my own eggs.
I have never had 100% on hatched eggs. In fact some I bought had 0%, but usually a few do hatch.
Its rare to get 100% on your own eggs much less shipped ones. It can happen but the odds of it are not good.
first hatch my own eggs 100%
never 100% on shipped eggs only half.
rac- love your coops great work.
I've had 2 100% hatch rates on "shipped" eggs. I brought over a dozen guinea eggs home from my grandmother's house to mine (a 5 hour drive). I guess that is "shipped"
I have some in my home made incubator that I ordered. I ordered 8 (and they sent 2 extra) All 10 were developing, but 2 quit along the way. have 8 going into lockdown on Wed. That's kind of 100% since they sent extras. I hope all 8 hatch properly! Good luck.
I just had someone this am Pm me and tell me they completed their hatch on my split lav silkie eggs-she got 100% to hatch on shipped eggs-and she got a PURE LAV SILKIE CHICK!!!!! I cant wait to see pictures!!!! Id share names but Ill wait - she may pipe in? Dont want to steal anyones thunder LOL
