Has anyone feed chickens live clams???

    just wondering if anyone gives or has given their chickens live clams (in the shell) ... my hubby brought some home on Monday night and they've been in my fridge and I don't have time nor desire to shuck em or cook em ... tx [​IMG]

    I did the other night. The only issue is one peck and they close up real tight and since your gals aren't seagulls, they don't know what tastiness lies inside. Your best best is to steam them real quick so they open, then throw them out there for them.

    We have chickens in Plymouth as well. Never thought about clams but it sounds Luke a good idea. All protein an calcium.
