My first time orpington broody had 13 lemon cuckoo shipped eggs under her and at day 21 I heard peeping and she was talking to them so I thought all was well,I waited untill today to open the door to her crate so she could come out with her chicks and NO chicks.I looked and three had hatched out and they were dead and flat.She must have smothered them.I candled the rest and they were no good.She stayed on the eggs, I would let her out every other day to poop and put her back after 15 minutes so I don`t know why the others didn`t hatch(1 was not fertile)I was just devastated,I wanted these so much and paid a lot for them.Has anyone have this happen to them and will this broody always be like this with her hatched chicks?
