Has anyone seen the Prairie Chickens ?? Thoughts ???

    the prairie chickens are so cool and talk about cool rare breeds and there i a site that sells the breed but it costs $250+ per .!!!!

    Do you mean the species of grouse from the Great Plains that are called "prairie chickens" ?

    It's a Grouse and not a chicken. [​IMG] I also believe that you will need a federal permit to have them.

    You are correct it is a grouse. I wikied it and it has some relation to chickens from what i understood, there is a you tube vid at a zoo , they were using a broody domestic hen to incubate the prairie chicken eggs. search words; prairie chicken , only a few vids on topic.
    And if you browser search prairie chicken for sale you will find a site that sells them , no mention of necessary permits. check it out!! post thoughts
