After a very hard hatch due to temp and humidy issues we managed to save
a few. Most were assisted hatches. Several chicks only lived for a short time
after hatching. It was a heartbreaker but a learning experience. We are taking
a short break from hatching anf have water wigglers on the way.

Most of the pics are from either Specklehen's or Hinkjc's eggs.

These are the ones who made it:

Fluffball Ameracauna - Not sure from who:

    Buff Silkie:

Blue Orps and a few more I'm not sure of:

These two are unknown breeds from an EBAY mystery pack. They are a week older
than the babies but SO sweet with them. They have mothered the new babies
and bought themselves a place in our pet/layer flock.

A Delaware the was being picked on by the evil Delaware babies, now part of the
    lucky flock:

Beautiful chicks! I see that little silkie in there! I birthed 3 a few days ago, never knew they had their own little personalities!
    Great!

    Quote:Thanks.

Don't mention the silkie again. It's a sensitive subject. Seriously, we started
out with 7 eggs, 3 hatched, 2 died. Same story with the entire hatch. This was
our 6th and worse hatch of the year. It happens I guess.

Now as for you birthing chickens, do you care to elaborate further? I really
    wanna hear details on this.

Quote:She may be, just not in that picture. I'm not nearly good enough in Photoshop to
mask a dark bird on a multicolor background like that.

She is even cuter in person. Gonna have those fluffy Ameracauna chipmunk cheaks. [IMG]

I see three Ameraucanas from my crew, I think, and is that last one an Ameraucana? I'd have almost said it was a splash, but supposedly one can't get a splash from a black and blue cross. Did Jody send you some of her Araucanas? Glad you at least got some Suede babies, too! Very cute.

The first one looks like a black araucana and the last one might be a blue araucana. Does that last one have big tufts? It's hard to see in the pic, but it looks really fuzzy at the ears. The first one looks rumpless too.
