A few of the chicks. All the white ones are silkies. The darker chicks are Silkie/EE mixes from KellyHM (5 out of 6 shipped eggs from her hatched and we have fluffy, strong, healthy chicks!) and the itty bitty is a Pharaoh Quail.

The white is supposed to be a silkie but has no foot feathers but five toes LOL. The darker chick is an EE/Silkie that the kids want to name McNugget... ROFL

They are so cute. I wanted to hatch some chicks at the headstart school that my little boy goes to, but some of the children are allergic to eggs, so I am unable to do so. They cannot even be around an egg.

Congrats. on the new babies. The children looked thrilled...lol

Quote:I was so afraid of this! I sent home literally 3 or 4 letters to the parents, warning them, preparing them, and giving them a chance to let me know it wasn't a good idea.

Luckily, none of them had the allergy! They're in love with the chicks.

Any time someone in the class is loud, one of them will say, "STOP crying. You're going to hurt the chicks' ears!"

OMG, I want my grandchicks back!!! They are so darn cute! You might have to bring them with you to the swap. [IMG] Out of the 2 I've hatched I've had 1 yellow and 1 blue....none of those pretty dark ones! Cute, cute, cute!!!

Edited to add pics of the 2 I've hatched (the blue one is hiding in my Silkie's wing)

That's so funny, Kelly! My whole bunch is like that. I wonder what they'll look like when they grow up?

I took some better pictures of them so you can see what their colors look like. All but one have feathered feet. [IMG]

I love "chick 4"'s pose! What a show off already! Bet it's a roo... [IMG] How's that lil pharaoh chick doin'? He's soooo tiny, he might get smooshed in there! Make sure he can't get into the waterer and drown! Those kids must be super happy! [IMG]
