Has anyone noticed a difference in hatch rates comparing the Jumbo Whites (Texas A&M) to the Jumbo Brown Coturnix Quail? I have 52 eggs set, half each kind (unless the extras happened to be one or the other) and I'm hatching out more Whites so far. (7 White to only 3 Browns.) Maybe the Browns are a strain that takes a little longer to incubate? Maybe the Whites are hardier? Maybe it is just random.
These are shipped eggs (from Lake Cumberland), so I'm not too disappointed in the low overall hatch rate because of shipping... I'm just glad ANY of them hatched. They seem lively and very healthy! Plus they aren't necessarily done hatching, it has only been about 4 hours, andI see several more pips. BTW this is day 18 of incubation.
