Well my sister and I incubated 23 eggs during the cold snap that hit Texas around Christmas and we had 18 chicks hatch out it. My go to chicken breeder had her incubator open as she wasn’t hatching anything at the moment and hatched them out for us. They’re Cochin bantams chicks. The fathers are Calico roosters that are smooth and frizzled. The moms are black mottled, blue frizzled and chocolate. We got a good amount of mottled but we also go blue and chocolate ones that look to be going mottled but the fathers are calicos? I’m very new at chicken color genetics so does the calico gene contain something similar to the mottled? We also go two calico colored ones who seem to have some weird patterns. I’ll be uploading photos of them tomorrow but I’ll attach a few photos that I took when they were a week old.

Cute chicks! In the future, it's best to avoid breeding 2 frizzled birds together. That's how you get frazzled birds. Either have a frizzled rooster, or frizzled hens. Do not keep both.
We knew that ahead of letting them breed, so we didn’t breed our frizzled hen to our frizzled rooster. The frizzled hen is in the pen with the smoothed rooster. We only have one frizzled hen and the rest are smooth.

Some updated photos of some of the chicks! They’re almost 3weeks We are still trying to guess which ones are the cockerel and pullets but I know I definitely have cockerels in this bunch. Both calicos are giving me cockerel vibes along with the last two photos chicks. Especially with those crests.

I'm gonna take an educated guess as we also raise and hatch Cochin bantams and they look almost identical to yours which btw they are beautiful 😍
From what I can see and it's always hard to tell through photos but the pink marks female and blue marks male. Cochin male's usually always feather out much later than females. But I could definitely be wrong lol
Let me know when you figure it out for sure.

the other two on the right turned out to be boys!! My sister was initially going to stay with the blue mottled on the right but it turned out to be a boy. 😂 the mother of the blue one we thought was going to be a cockerel because she feathered out so slowly but she indeed turned out to be a pullet. Now a solid black rooster we have feathered quickly and turned out to be a boy and had a small crest up until he turned 3 months. We were taken by surprise when we heard something trying to crow when supposedly we had all pullets. 😅
