Hatched out a chick today!!

Ahh! I'm so happy!

To be honest, when I put them in the 'bator I wasn't even positive that they were fertilized. Then towards the end I was very doubtful.
But now I have a little chicky that hatched out, and two more that are breaking their shells.

The first one to hatch out. I helped him a little bit, because his eggs skin was really tough.

Another one hatched out, and another one is pecking at its shell! So happy, I'll have 4 chicks. Hopefully they'll all be hens, I have enough roosters running around as is. xD

No, I'm not quite sure what the mother is. (it came from my mix flock, which has a lot of different breeds but no orpingtons.

) But I am pretty sure that the father is a leghorn.
