Hatcheries - How Come They Can't Sex Bantams?

4) What would you do w/bantam roosters at that age except cull them. Lack of incentive to sex them.

Im confused... I have, I was told...a Bantam rooster and we really LOVE him... Do I not have a good chick?? Sorry Im new:/

Nothing wrong with your rooster at all. It's just that most people prefer pullets so they will lay. They want chickens to be useful. Hens lay, roosters are for food. Bantam roosters would eat for too long before getting big enough to butcher and would not provide enough meat to be worth it. For those who want pets, there is the consideration that many city ordinances do not allow roosters. There is certainly nothing wrong with them though. You'll love your little guy!
