My 2 female ducks are broody and have been sitting together on approx 10 eggs. I'm wondering if after they hatch the ducklings will I need to remove the babies and bring them in the house with a heat lamp or will the mama ducks be able to keep the babies warm enough. Temps are typically 80 high 60 low. Also curious if I need to keep the food separate? Thanks for any input. We are trying to let the mamas do this as naturally as possible.

:welcome Let the mamas do it. Just keep an eye on the drakes - it may be necessary to separate the moms and ducklings from the flock. Good luck for a successful hatch.

I had young goslings running with the gaggle out in the snow. Still boggles my mind. So... the temperature wisdom might be more of a guideline with parents around.

Mamma might chase adults away while the babies eat, drink, and sleep depending on which are her trusted friends. My mamma duck even chased off the randy drake from trying to mount her teenaged duckling.
