Hi All, Have a question. I have one incubator, Turkeys started to lay, I had chicken eggs in the bator already, I put the Turkey eggs in the bator with the chicken eggs, now I read that Turkeys eggs should not be in with chicken eggs due to disease problems. Any thoughts? I want this to work.
Regards, Sandy

right now I have turkey, chicken, duck and goose eggs all in the same incubator.. ben doing it like this for years.. after they hatch, they stay together in the brooder..

the only thing I do differently, is keep the turkeys off the ground for 12 weeks after hatching.. I built two turkey porches for this purpose..

Sorry but why would u keep the turkeys off the ground for 12 weeks?

turkeys' immune system is not very good for the first 12 weeks. and on the ground is where they can pick up diseases like blackhead from chickens.. the chickens do not have to be present, they only have to have been kept in the past..
