I have one comment. Hatching under a chicken is a whole lot easier than in the incubator. Hens are so good!
My first batch of hatched-at-home eggs are now in the hatcher. I'm nervous. What if the temp went crazy while I wasn't watching? What if the humidity was wrong? What if the breeder wasn't careful with their diets? What am I going to do with sick or deformed babies? Why do I have to have such anxiety???
Quote:Can you borrow a broody from someone? LOL If you get sick or deformed babies, deal with it then. Having anxiety over it now isn't going to change anything at all. Just wasted energy. Chances are your chicks will be fine. Oh yea, compare the number of posts about sick or deformed chicks to the number of members here. It is probably just a small percentage.
Quote:I so agree. My first 2 hatches have been horrible. I so hope the next three this coming weekend will go better
I would love for one of my hens to go broody. I don't think there is nothing sweeter than watching a mama hen take care of her babies. I would love to experience it one day. Enjoy the miracles of life!
