Hatching help!!

Is it normal for momma hen to peck at the chick when it's hatching? Or is she going to kill it.??
 
Well I got lucky. I assisted the hatch. Yolk was absorbed. Tucked her under momma and took a break. There are two more eggs under her that have pipped. Five total. I can't stay out there all night to assist with the other two if she started to peck them open like she did with this one. And another one that died while I was at work because the yolk sack wasn't absorbed.
