Hatching on day 18

I have a egg that is already peeping on day 18 almost day 19. I know early hatching is caused by to high of temperature but is it harmful? Did it also peep early because the egg is smaller? The chicken egg is just a little bigger than a golf ball.

Chicken eggs can hatch early with no harm done. The full 21 days is preferable but I have had eggs hatch early that were fine and others just not strong enough to survive. Hopefully everything will be fine. Usually if they are able to hatch on their own they should survive. Good luck!

The chick hatched well and healthy. But why is the chicks eyes puffy like baby birds?

That is interesting. Perhaps it's a fluid thing. Might settle down in a day or so. How is your chicken now.?
