Hello all! So we have been incubating some silkie (possible satin/drizzle) eggs that I bought on EBay. And as with many shipped eggs, we had some pretty messed up air cells. Anyhow, we are on day 19, in lockdown. I have read a million different articles on how to treat eggs with damaged air cells. So I wanted to share a few pics of our progress and praying these babies make it out to the work. We started in my old gqf hovabator, then moved them to a brand new Brinsea Mini Advance. Out of the 9 eggs I got, 2 were duds (completely detached air cells, and 2 early blood rings. So we are down to 5. All 5 are alive and moving with only a small amount of yolk that can be seen when candling. So here’s some pics of our journey, so far... any tips or feedback is greatly appreciated!!! And also, how do I upload videos? Can’t wait to meet these fluff balls! 8FB9D895-9E3D-43E7-83D9-102565386914.jpeg 8FB9D895-9E3D-43E7-83D9-102565386914.jpeg 370AB667-22D4-444A-B971-120560C36A00.jpeg DA028794-A226-40A6-BDD6-3B36F8294883.jpeg 36830E38-00AD-4735-ABC9-0C31E98EC913.jpeg 998337D1-6582-43AD-B92C-2D602ECAD21F.jpeg D3A8B776-F802-4D48-8A93-0E0F8060F1A0.jpeg 9B628F25-2626-4793-B4D1-99B9BE8B1EDA.jpeg 8FB9D895-9E3D-43E7-83D9-102565386914.jpeg 370AB667-22D4-444A-B971-120560C36A00.jpeg DA028794-A226-40A6-BDD6-3B36F8294883.jpeg 36830E38-00AD-4735-ABC9-0C31E98EC913.jpeg 998337D1-6582-43AD-B92C-2D602ECAD21F.jpeg D3A8B776-F802-4D48-8A93-0E0F8060F1A0.jpeg 9B628F25-2626-4793-B4D1-99B9BE8B1EDA.jpeg 01D89486-7E10-4117-83F8-4301AC856A72.jpeg CCEB8B25-C08A-42A7-B4C2-E087AE4A4017.jpeg

*Sizzle, also, sorry for the duplicate pics. I also wanted to say, i let eggs rest 24 hours, before incubation. Then 5 days in Bator, air cells up, not turning. Then started hand-turning at a 45 degree angle until day 17-18. Also, in the process of setting up brooder, still have to add the bedding and also made a screen “picture frame-looking” square to put the water on to keep it clean. Although I think I may have to extend my stand a little higher, because it’s around 95 with the lamp all the way up. 80A94FCD-872E-42E4-A9A9-B9FAEC8B4266.jpeg 80A94FCD-872E-42E4-A9A9-B9FAEC8B4266.jpeg 07473F89-FE2D-4EE2-B572-69947F9F3E61.jpeg F8852F1C-4934-41B3-BB2A-45401256B498.jpeg
