OK I love when you sell someone a bird and get a call/email from them telling you how much they Love their baby. But dang, I hate to sell them, especially when they are younger. You never know how they will turn out! lol But hubby won't let me keep everyone! He keeps saying to me,STOP HATCHING! But the next great bird could be only a pip away. What's a hatching addict to do? Really? I finally broke down and sold a few eggs from my Lavender & Porcelain breedings. I thought that no one would notice, the white knuckles as the eggs left my grubby mitts! Now it's time to thin down the feed load of a barn full of fluff. I just listed.....I can hardly believe I'm about to say it.....one of my Porcelain Pullets! There, I admit it! The auction is up, and there is nothing I can do about it now! She is soooo nice, absolutely perfect, I can't believe I did it. I'm a bad silkie mom!

I had to PROMISE my husband I would not go look at any more Silkies from private individuals unless he was with me---I'd find them living in deplorable conditions, or they had some physical defect--and I'd "rescue" them...

Trouble is between the rescues, and my inability to let any of my babies go to other homes, I'm running out of room !!

Husband says we're too old to buy and clear any adjoining land, so somethings gotta give...

I hear ya. Mine aren't due to hatch until this weekend and I already am wondering where I am going to put them all. Hubby asked how many I am keeping because he is planning on building me a coop. I couldn't answer!!! I never gave it a thought as to selling them !!!!
Guess I'll be a member of the hatching addict club too.

Ha ha ya I am having a hard time letting go of all the chicks and they are in my freaking house with me Yuck! Oh and snuggle has started laying!

I always have chicks in the house, I just kicked the house duck that has been in here since Nov out! Kevin had to go out! I was tired of being yelled at by a duck every morning for the last 6 months!

Way to go Snuggle! Just hope she dosen't get broody on you, if she does, she may go Great White on anyone who get's to close!

Ha ha I don't mind I love broodies espeacially mean ones keeps me from worrying about something getting the chicks it also keeps me from bothering them to much. Are Wyndottes very broody birds? I would love for snuggle to have a few fluffy faverolles babies. Oh I hope she waits so I can give her some eggs from my new black faverolles pair
