Have comb will crow?

    This is one of my 2 day old Delaware/Barred Rock chicks. Do you suppose such a pronounced comb at such an early age may suggest it's a cockerel? The other D/BR chick has virtually no comb yet at all.

    Yep, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a roo.

    Going with cockerel...LOL! Adorable! Don't you just LOVE when they have all that lovely gunk on them after hatching! lol

    When you cross a barred with a non-barred sex-linked chicks result. I THINK (not sure though!) barred chicks in such a cross are female and nonbarred are male. Does it have a white patch on the back of it's head? That means it's barred.

    ....though I could be totally wrong. [​IMG]
