Have you ever seen this

    One of my hens layed a soft shell egg yesterday and i also found this under her, it was a creamy colour and it is soft to the touch.

    It may be what's referred to as a lash egg. You could try googling that and see what comes up.

    Lash eggs are common in older layers. How old is your girl?

    Thank's Krista, she is nearly 2 now. I will google that.

    I just googled it, I think you are right, thank's for your help.
    I will keep an eye on her for a few days but today she seems none the worse after laying it.

    [​IMG] thank goodness it's nothing serious, I've never heard of a lash egg before. 8am and I've already learned something :) yay
