I have been planning on buying a nice show Cochin chick this spring and have a broody hen raise it. It won't be a problem finding a broody hen they go broody frequently. I have read other post and seen how to place the chick in, but my hutch houses all 4 chickens and 4 Ducks. So my question is Will it be okay to introduce the chick at night with all the other birds in the hutch? OR Should I put the Other girls outside for a couple of nights and let them see the chick and momma through the screening?
    Thanks for all your help!

If your broody takes to the chick, you shouldn't have a problem with the other chickens picking on the mother and chick, however, you may have problems with an overly-protective momma hen hurting the other chickens.
