We have 4 black Australorp chicks that are approximately 5 1/2 weeks old…. I understand they are still to young to officially determine which are Roos and hens…. But here goes
My boyfriend thinks we have 3 Roos and 1 hen and I think we have 1 Roo and 3 hens

I think the ones 1,2,3 are hens and 4 is a Roo
My boyfriend thinks only 2 is a hen and 1,3,4 are Roos

So just wondering what you all think

😊

I think your correct. But as you said, still young to officially say what gender

Thank you to all that replied…. We are new to raising chickens… my boyfriend surprised my 10yr old daughter and got her these from TSC and he is currently building the Taj Mahal of chicken coops out of his old horse stall lol…. Even if we do end up with multiple Roos, some of our coworkers offered to take them…. I’m ok with keeping the one (#4) that I think is a Roo- it’s the biggest of the chicks and the most onry, so his personality will def fit in with us lol 😊
