Hawk attack, graphic photos

Got the picture of him actually eating my hen! The girls were heading to the coop for the eve and this red tail swooped down and grabbed one. My sister scared it off, but the damage was done. It's dark now, but last I saw the hawk, it was in a tree nearby. First time I've ever had a hawk attack. It ate the head and neck. Of course it was one of my good girls, like usual. RIP pretty Marshmallow.

Its a bad time for the hawks. I lost 2 pigeons in one day last week, we are one lockdown now.

Hawks will come back day after day.. Either lock them up good where there is no chance of attack or bring out the shotgun!

We are on lockdown too , for a bit. I just get so mad that the predators always take my favorites! I have a few I'd gladly give them .
The flock is all freaked out now.

I tell new chicken keepers that before they begin eating your chicken that hawks (and owls too) will always look for a toe web mark, leg band, wing band, or tattoo. You see these devilish chicken killers always want to eat the best chickens that you have.
