We are wondering if a scarecrow would be enough to scare away a hawk? Just had one land in our tree and scare the chickens into the coop the second day having them, so they know they are here. Any thoughts...thanks!

If it's landing in a tree I know some people have had success hanging used cd's in the tree. I guess the reflection of light freaks them out...
Foil cake pans flapping in the wind has worked so far for us.
One of my youngens was carried off by a hawk so DH and I got a huge net at the farm store and put it over the fenced in area.
Can you see the net in the photo?
The first day we had it up, we were standing at the fence and a cooper's hawk landed right beside us! The chickens all ran for cover not realizing they were covered! The owls we have sitting around did not deter the hawk.
