Here’s Mrs. Hazel again a week later. Still no egg or crow.... super red face and large comb and wattle versus Pearl, but no saddle or hackle feathers. Is the consensus still a point of lay pullet? I certainly wish she would show us some signs soon. 22 weeks old now. She does seem to squat now when we pet her. 9B49DB29-E136-4C3D-AC45-135E341C74E7.jpeg 1891A2D0-654D-4942-BFAA-2C735FCC59DA.jpeg 7AA8CF91-0B84-4EC0-8286-5E77E1F37EA1.jpeg EABC7C71-0ED1-477A-8FDA-F4CF1544CCCA.jpeg 8E6F8D25-ED65-4F46-8BB5-CB94237BC046.jpeg

I agree with Gray Farms. She's a pullet and will soon be laying. I am very happy it worked out that way for you!

NO! She is doing the squat now. I swear she looks male except still no saddle or hackle feathers. She's so sweet and friendly. My 4 year old son just loves holding her and she doesn't seem to mind either! I keep praying for an egg soon!

If she was a he you could tell by now. Our Buff Orpington rooster is WAY bigger than the BO girls. And his plumage is amazing. I was in denial for ages as I didn’t want a rooster but he just kept getting bigger and fancier.....then started crowing. Wish he weren’t such a jerk because he really is beautiful.

One of our BO girls has a larger comb than the other and it flops to the side slightly. Kinda funny actually as it gives her a endearing lopsided look.

Hazel's comb is so big! She puts her sister pearl to shame. Pearl's is barely noticeable and they are the same age. Pearl used to be the sweetest one also, but now she is more stand off'ish. Hazel is just sweet as can be. I am so thrilled she is still a girl!! :)
