My 4 month old chicken has become quite aggressive, makes loud noises and looks different from the rest. I'm afraid that it is most likely a roo. I also have no idea what kind it is. Any insight you can give would be very helpful. Thank you!

Wow! You're kidding me? I am very new to having a chicken family, but I thought for sure it was male. Do you think that the loud noises will stop eventually?

She's probably about to lay. Sometimes they get a little crazy. Once she gets used to laying, she should calm down again. [IMG]

Do hens really start behaving differently right before they lay? Is that like chicken puberty?[IMG]

Yep- exactly like chicken puberty. They'll *usually* become more friendly and talkative, and most will even squat for you (which is what they do for the roosters when they want a little brown chicken brown cow, if you know what I'm sayin') [IMG]
