    Our new chickens are healing!

We're seeing white fluff and new feathers coming in. Also, the bright red areas are now pinkish in the worst spots.

    Here are some pics:

    Yay!! What happened to them?
What are you using to treat the wounds/healing areas?

We bought them from a local farm. They arrived like that. Some members here think that they were kept with too many roosters.

It makes me sad because they didn't lay when we first got them and now we're getting five eggs from eight hens. Clearly they are solid producers.

We aren't putting anything on the wounds. No one was actively bleeding and it didn't look like the bare areas were infected. We are "treating" them with a clean environment, enough space that they don't need to be competitive and a diet which includes, fruit, veggies and yogurt. They are much more relaxed now and no pecking between them.
