Heat lamp

I just got 10 chicks ranging from a few days old to abt a week or two old, they are out in a barn that is fairly hot and I’m wondering if putting a heat lamp in them will overheat them

Abt 86 degrees, I think I’m gonna turn it on but just put it in the corner so if they want to go under it they can, the 4 big ones let the little ones go under them as well so they have that warmth too

86 should be alright but I'm sure it gets colder at night though so probably wouldn't be a bad idea for night or cooler temps as long as brooder area is large enough to be able to get away from heat. Just make sure there are cooler areas and that lamp dose'nt over heat the whole area.
