I have a quick simple question. What should the wattage be for a heat lamp for 3 chicks in a Rubbermaid? They would be in my garage.

Ohhhhh really? Should I just use the heating pad? Does that go under the Rubbermaid then?

No, you make an arched frame for it out of scrap hardwire or whatever you have handy. One woman used an old tomato trellis thing. Make a sort of cave they can go under the same way they go under a mama hen. Make sure it arches to where they can touch it with their back. I made a fancier version recently out of a cookie cooling rack and some bolts, but I hatch and raise a lot of chicks so it was worth the extra time and cost. Look at my post here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ooder-picture-heavy-update/8820#post_18178624
