Thinking about winter and wanted to know about purchasing a heated waterer. I live in VA and our weather is not too extreme, but there are periods that go below freezing. Looking for some advice on what others have used.

    Welcome to BYC.

I am in Va also. I don't do anything special for waterers for most of the winter. On the very coldest nights when The waterers are apt to freeze I have a heat lamp hanging on the waterer with a timer to turn on at about 4 am to thaw any ice and have it set to go off about 7 am. We go out and check often in freezing weather to make everyone has free flowing water.
