Hi, I'm new to baby chicken raising and I was wondering how long I should keep the heating lamp. They are 3 weeks old and I still have them under constant lighting with enough room for them to move out from under the light if they are too warm. Do I start taking away the light when they have enough feathers to maintain their own body heat? Thanks for your help!

A very good question and yes to aid in feather growth you might want turn off the heat lamp in the day time and keep them out of the wind or breeze ..

These are some of my chicks at three weeks of age and I put
them outside in late January when the temps were at 60F or
better and fed them a hard boiled egg every day to get them
enough protein for feather growth ....
